PURPOSE

This is a fun eye-hand coordination activity to celebrate the New Year!

SETUP

New Year's is always a time where balloons are part of the celebration.  Spread the children out all over your room and have enough balloons for each student.

INSTRUCTIONS

Each child should continually try to tap their balloon into the air without letting it hit the floor or catching it with their hands.

You can make contests to see how many students can do it for 1 minute without letting it hit the ground.

You can also try stunts like hitting it in the air, spinning in a circle, then tapping it up again.

Be creative with your routine.  For example, have students partner up tapping a balloon back and forth.

MODIFICATIONS

To make it harder, the students can try to tap 2 balloons at a time.
